Is there any correlation between height and
foot (shoe) size? I'm 5 ft. 10 in. and a men's
shoe size 8. Women's shoe sizes are two
sizes larger. Thus a men's size 8 = a woman's size 10.
Do taller people have bigger feet?
I thought about this question as I was swimming
backstroke in a pool this morning at the YMCA, and
gazing up at the blue sky and the pine trees.

I am only 5 foot tall, and wear a size 7 shoe.
I used to be same height,my feet were originally sz6,Then 6 1/2 thru mid twenties, and now 7 (33 yrs old). Now maybe its just an old wives tale, but somewhere I heard that your feet grow when you have a baby-It completely doesnt make sense, except that I have 4 great kids and, well, bigger feet!
I love my feet though, they took me to the most wonderful places this weekend! -

Sun, May 9, 2004 - 6:25 AMmy hubby is 5'11" and he wears a size 13. i think generally the taller you are, the bigger feet, but its also bone structure. at my office there is a guy with the same height and shoe size as my hubby, but another guy an inch taller who wears a size 10. the size 10 guy has smaller bones. -

At one of the bus stops, there was a gal who
couldn't have been more than 5'4", but she
was wearing sandals and had really big
feet that seemed out of proportion with the rest
of her. Guess we are all given different gifts!

Wed, May 12, 2004 - 11:41 AMOddly enough I think it just depends. I'm 5'2" and I can wear anywhere from a 6 1/2 to an 8 in womens, it just depends on the make/style of the shoe.
I knew a guy who was 6'4" and wore a men's size 8. Weird. My boyfriend is 6'2" and wears a size 12. Growing up my brother's best friend was 6'4" and wore a size 14.

I can fit my entire work boot into one of their tennis shoes. -

Tue, May 18, 2004 - 11:09 AMi`m 5`3 but wear a size 6 to 7. but my boys are all tall. my oldest is 6`3 and wears a 14. so it has to be just what ever you get . i don`t think all tall people have big feet. had a man friend once that was 6f but wore a size 8. so that made him look kind of funny. but i tried not to stare or say any thing.

I can add to this discussion. I'm 6'8" tall, and wear size 16 shoes, boots, sneakers, but prefer to be barefoot. Unfortunately in my job (construction) I cannot be barefoot.

Wed, February 15, 2006 - 4:50 PMI don't think there's any correlation I'm 5' 10.5" and wear an 8.5 mens or 9. My feet have gotten wider and more muscular as I'm nearly always barefoot. My arches have also lifted as the muscle tone has increased. However, I can not move my toes seperately like fingers, but I'm working on it.

Sat, April 1, 2006 - 10:03 AMI am 5'8" and wear womens size 11 now. (Thats a mens 9) However.... I was wearing a size 10 by the time I was in 5th grade(age 11) already. I'm 27 now. I stayed at size 10 till about age 21 or so. So I guess it probably does have to do with bone structure. My mom, she is a size 10 too. My dad, he wears a size 14(so does my brother). And my grandpa wears a 16. HOLY SURFBOARDS!! So... herreditary too?

Mon, May 29, 2006 - 12:06 PMHi there.My Dad and me are the same shoesize 9,thats U.K. size, yet he is 5' 8" and I`m 6' .My feet are a little bit wider though,more so from going barefoot as much as possible in the summer.
