Hi all,

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
QUICK INFO:
WHEN: Tonight, 5/30/08, between 6:30 and 7 pm (probably near the end)
WHAT: Barefoot Chris on CBS Evening News with Katie Couric (check your local listings, as they say)
WHY: Because Barefooting is Newsworthy?
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Steve Hartman from CBS News visited me earlier this week to film a segment for his human interest stories.

http://www.cbsnews.com/sections/assignment_america/main500617.shtml

He came on Monday and spent an afternoon (from 5 pm to 9 pm) visiting during a Memorial Day barbecue with friends, interviewing me and filming background footage (is that a pun?). He also filmed my little one for 15 minutes showing off her shoe collection (Not my fault, I swear..she's a girly girl and people, not me, love to buy her clothes and shoes).

Then, they visited and filmed me at work on Tuesday (I got permission from my boss on Friday) around 3 pm.

Afterwards, they wanted to film me in a point-counterpoint discussion with a podiatrist, so we headed to Center City (downtown) Philadelphia to see the doctor he found. We arrived JUST at 5 (as I warned him we would in rush hour traffic) and the doctor couldn't stay. So, their next idea was to film me walking around downtown "in the city." So, I suggested the Liberty Bell and Independence Mall as a fitting location. :-)

The Bell pavilion was closed at 5 (sad...might have been interesting trying to get in) but they filmed me outside looking in and looking across the street at Independence Hall, etc.

Then, we spent about 30 minutes filming me crossing the street with pedestrian traffic and cars going by.

So, we shall see how the finished piece comes out.
