Just moved to CA and have a pool in my condo complex. Surprise to me that people wear pool shoes to swim!

Re: barefoot in the pool
Tue, August 10, 2004 - 11:44 PMSeems strange, eh? Some folks have a phobia about
catching Athlete's Foot (fungal infection), and must
always have some kind of footware (shoes, flip-flops,
etc.) underfoot. Not for me! :-) -

Wed, August 11, 2004 - 10:39 PMHey Loren I get it that they want to wear something going TO the pool, but IN it? That part I do not get! -

Re: barefoot in the pool
Thu, August 12, 2004 - 10:56 PMYep--if they just want to have something on their feet.
Some serious swimmers like finswimming because
of the physical workout they can get--like lifting weights
in a gym. Check out the <Finswimming> tribe. Of course,
I'm biased--I'm the moderator of that tribe! :-) -

Re: barefoot in the pool
Fri, August 13, 2004 - 5:26 PMmy pool is the family kind for playing and doing short laps, but I have noticed the shoe-things elsewhere.
Finswimmin! wowzie, that might have been great fun when I was in my 20's -
