Just moved to CA and have a pool in my condo complex. Surprise to me that people wear pool shoes to swim!

Seems strange, eh? Some folks have a phobia about
catching Athlete's Foot (fungal infection), and must
always have some kind of footware (shoes, flip-flops,
etc.) underfoot. Not for me! :-)

Hey Loren I get it that they want to wear something going TO the pool, but IN it? That part I do not get!

Yep--if they just want to have something on their feet.
Some serious swimmers like finswimming because
of the physical workout they can get--like lifting weights
in a gym. Check out the <Finswimming> tribe. Of course,
I'm biased--I'm the moderator of that tribe! :-)

my pool is the family kind for playing and doing short laps, but I have noticed the shoe-things elsewhere.

Finswimmin! wowzie, that might have been great fun when I was in my 20's
