Since it has been well established that driving barefoot is ok what about barefootin in businesses like restaurants, markets, etc. Is the "No Shoes, No Shirts, No Service" thing real or just another myth? If it is iilegal in some places, why is it illegal? And in the case of "No Shoes, No Shirt, No Service" does that then mean you could go in butt naked below the waist as long as you have shoes and a shirt on? lol

Sun, January 21, 2007 - 1:51 PMThey say it's illegal because of disease, apperantly our bare feet pick up and distribute a lot of bacteria and disease on floors, more so that shoes of course :)
Yeah, you can get athletes food and things like that if you happen to be exposed to it. But since most people in stores are wearing shoes anyway you won't be distributing anything that that's not already there.
I walk barefoot all over Boulder, on the sidewalk, on the street, on Pearl Street Mall. I go into all businesses possible without shoes and usually no one has noticed. It helps to wear a long skirt. I've neer to my knowledge gotten any disease that way. I actually got athletes foot from WEARING shoes!
When i've been dancing in places which also serve alcohol owners have been genuinely concerned that i would step on boken glass, this is reasonable. However if people go barefoot enough the skin with become very strong like leather. One day recently i was wondering what that crunchiness was under my feet and found it was a shattered light bulb! -

Sun, January 21, 2007 - 4:07 PMOops, not now actually *sheepish grin* :)
Actually i do run around barefoot in the backyard, i discovered that ice is not as cold as snow and our yard is pretty much packed ice from so much walking on it and no sun.
The cold air doesn't bother me, if there was no snow or ice i probably wouldn't be wearing shoes. I still think it's dangerous to go barefoot in snow for too long, though i do it to go to the neighbour's house or something short. Ice is dangerous too but it doesn't coat the feet or stick to them which is why i can be on it for much longer before i stop feeling.
